Panda life cycle.
Pandas depend on their mothers for the first few months they are born. And fully off the tit at 8-9 months a kid panda leaves its mum when the mother is pregnant normally 18 months. A panda average lifetime is 14 to 20 years but can live up to 30.
Lifestyle.
There are different types of pandas like red pandas and giant pandas. Giant pandas spend their lives eating bamboo and walking around the forest taking care of their babies. Giant pandas are good at climbing and swimming they don't build dens only for their cubs to put in. The red panda is nocturnal they sleep during the day up on the tree tops. They mostly eat bamboo so their diet is almost vegetarian. It will eat other foods such as grasses, acorns, and berries, as well as grubs, lizards, mice, chicks and bird eggs.
Population.
The red panda is recognised as an endangered species with a population of less than 10,000 red panda that live in the wild. In 2014 there was about 1,864 giant pandas alive in the wild and in the past decade giant pandas numbers have risen 17%.
Panda facts.
A giant panda is much bigger than your teddy bear it looks cuddly and nice when you see it on your computer or phone but its actually bigger than you think. An adult weighs more than 45kilos and can be 1,5 meters long. An adult panda can eat up to 12-38 kilos of bamboo. A panda spends about 14 hours a day eating bamboo and can eat up to 12-38 kilos a day.
